PARTECIPATION REGULATION

PURPOSE
To offer to young disabled people the opportunity to meet and gather to exchange their experiences in an atmosphereof friendship and amusement in an equipped and tested structure specially conceived for them, helping them to develop their potential through cultural, sports, touristic, recreational team activities.

PERIOD
Every year in July. The dates are provided by the staff every year by March 1st, via the website www.campogiovani.org

PARTICIPANTS
Young people of both genders aged between 18 and 30 years old. Each guest must have his/her own carer with whom to share the stay. 15 kids with their respective carers, coming from Italy and other Countries all over the world, will be hosted.

TYPE OF DISABILITY
The application may be submitted by all disabled kids with both motor and intellectual/sensory disability, who are used to be in a group and can effectively benefit from the attendance.

HOSPITALITY AND EXPENSES
All the accommodation and living expenses to host the kids and their carers are entirely borne by the Organization. Travel expenses until Domodossola railway station are borne by participants.

INSURANCE
Both kid and carer must be covered by an insurance policy for travel insurance coverage, luggage and third-party liability, for the round trip from their residence to the place of the Camp.

APPLICATIONS
The application must be submitted by March 31st each year via the website www.campogiovani.org
It must be signed by one parent or the guardian of the disabled kid, and a medical certificate attesting the fitness to travel and participate in the activities must be attached.
The application acceptance will be evaluated by the specific committee, which will confirm the participants by April 15th, specifying all the useful information.

PLAN OF THE ACTIVITIES
The schedule of the daily activities is available on the website www.campogiovani.org; the participants must undertake to respect the plan within their physical capacity and medical authorizations.

STAFF
The Disabled Youth Camp is managed and organized by volunteers. During all the activities there will be two or more “Camp Leaders” (chosen by the Governing Council of the Camp). They will be the reference point for kids and carers and coordinate the staff of volunteers.
At least one Leo member and one Lions member for each District should be part of the Camp staff.
